Since the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, and its retaliation, the war situation in the Gaza Strip in Palestine has continued to deteriorate, and the Israeli army is reportedly preparing for a ground war, increasing the risk of many civilian casualties. What can we do at this critical moment? What is the Palestinian-Israeli problem in the first place?

We will discuss the current critical situation with our guest speaker, Satoshi Ukai, Emeritus Professor of Hitotsubashi University, who has long been deeply involved in Palestinian culture and politics as well as being a well-known scholar of contemporary French philosophy, especially Jacques Derrida.

The main language will be Japanese, but any language speakers are welcome to attend (Although there is no interpreters provided, we will try to do our best to assist anyone to speak any other language than Japanese). After Professor Ukai’s talk, we would like to create a forum for discussion among participants.

Basically, this project is designed for GA and our university students, but if seats are available, outside participants are also welcome.

Please register for the registration form before attending.
Registration has been closed due to reaching capacity. (10/23)
