undetectable bodies

Exhibition Period l 2025/06/13~15, 20~22 (Friday to Sunday), 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM

In undetectable bodies, the works of Théophylle Dcx manifest as an ever-evolving personal, medical, and political archive composed of traces of personal longings and desire. Extending from the intimacy of his bedroom to the collective space of the dancefloor, it weaves a narrative that provides a testimony to his existence and the collective memory of his surroundings.

In a context where certain voices are permitted and encouraged to the detriment of others that are silenced, rendered invisible—made undetectable—Théophylle constructs this archive as a gesture of affirmation, resistance, and emancipation. Drawing on themes such as non-normative sexual practices, queer existence, and HIV-positivity, the assemblage of his works poses the question: how do we survive within the normative regimes without abandoning our yearnings?
Within the space of Datsuijo, Théophylle Dcx’s installations, drawings, texts, and videos come together to create an intimate environment, where his emotional life becomes a starting point for collective reflection on survival and identity, love and desire. The exhibition will also feature a series of events and performances, along with moments of shared celebration.
