While critically examining the balance between the discursivization of contemporary art and the practice of art through the senses, Professor Maharaj has been explaining the importance of “knowledge” in the production of knowledge through art (knowledge production). In this lecture, I will reexamine the meaning of “knowledge” gained through art research in the current context of the rise of information technology and algorithms.
Professor Maharaj, who has given priority to lectures and curatorial practice rather than publication of books as “authoritative,” will share his latest insights and provide an excellent opportunity to experience the deep insights and sincere personality that have earned him the nickname “Gandhi of the contemporary art world.
