Introducing a New Faculty Member at the Graduate School of Global Arts

 

Professor Sumiko Kumakura will retire from the Graduate School of Global Arts at the end of academic year 2025. We are pleased to announce that Associate Professor Yuichiro Nagatsu will be appointed as her successor in the area of Arts Management at the Graduate School of Global Arts from April 2026.

Yuichiro Nagatsu

A researcher in arts management and cultural policy, Yuichiro Nagatsu is dedicated to fostering diverse connections within and beyond the arts scene. His research and practice centers on the expressive activities of people from diverse backgrounds, particularly those with disabilities. Furthermore, his expertise extends to workshop-based education, the management and production of theatre and dance, and project evaluation. His publications include: “Stage Disability: Expressions Born from Boundaries” and “Art Management and Social Inclusion.” He is also a Representative of the ‘Arts Meets Care’ Society, a board member of the Japan Association for Cultural Policy Research, a board member of the Japan Association for Cultural Economics, and a member of the steering committee of the Japan Association for Arts Management. Additionally, he is a member of the Expert Council for the Promotion of Arts and Cultural Activities for Persons with Disabilities of the Agency for Cultural Affairs and the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
